How much should I raise as a participant?

To fully support Mission Inclusion's programs, we invite you to collect donations from your friends and family. We suggest you set a goal of $500, which will contribute directly to our on-the-ground actions.

This amount will also cover the costs incurred by Mission Inclusion for your participation, including registration and jerseys.

How can I go collect the money?

Organizing a fundraising event is as easy as pedaling a bike! In 3 simple steps, you can create your own fundraising page and support Mission Inclusion.

How can I help publicize the event?

Proudly display your colors! Don't hesitate to mobilize your social networks and spread the word. In our Participant's Guide, you'll find a number of tips and communication tools to help you spread the word about your fund-raising event.

Do my teammates and I have to do the same course?

Yes, everyone on the same team must complete the same course.

Can I use an electric bike?

Yes! Electric bikes are allowed on the course (maximum 500 watt motor and maximum speed of 35 km/h). Are not allowed: scooters with pedals and electric unicycles (gyroroues or solowheels).

Can I use a tandem?

Yes! Tandems are allowed on the course. Are not allowed: scooters with pedals and electric unicycles (gyroroues or solowheels).

Are animals allowed on the tour?

No animals are allowed on the course. If you wish to participate with your pet, it must be placed in a basket on your bike or in a bike cart.

How many people can ride at the same time on the field as a team?

For safety reasons, Vélo Québec does not allow cyclists to ride in a peloton of more than 15 people.

 

The day of the event

Where is the metropolitan challenge located this year?

Each year, the event visits a new corner of the greater metropolitan area. The location will be announced shortly.

What time should I be on site?

Precise times will be sent by e-mail. Departures are scheduled between 7am and 10am, depending on the route chosen.

Is there parking?

Vélo Québec always provides a parking space for the thousands of cyclists participating in the activity. Arrive early to be sure to find a place not too far from the departure point!

How long will the journey take me?

The time of your journey is entirely up to you! Choose your pace and enjoy the scenery. Don't forget that the roads will be closed for our safety, but a sweeping platoon will make sure no one is left behind.

What if I have a mechanical problem on the course?

Vélo Québec provides teams of volunteers assigned to mechanics all along the route. They will have a red t-shirt with a wrench. The service is free but you will have to pay for the parts.

Is the event likely to be canceled in the event of bad weather?

No, regardless of the weather, the tour will be maintained. So remember to equip yourself accordingly.

Should I bring my snack?

You'll be given a lunch bag at the lunch stop. In addition, Mission Inclusion will offer you a snack on departure and return. We look forward to seeing you at our booth.

Is there a beverage stand at the event site?

Yes, of course! Vélo Québec is planning a bar-café tent. Don't forget to bring your change for refreshments. You'll also find water fountains on the event site where you can fill up your water bottle.

What shirt should I wear to the event?

On the big day, proudly wear your Mission Inclusion shirt! It will be sent to you specially for the occasion.
